sweet sensuality
This little girl was selected, among other pieces, to be part of Skink Ink's first
Open Exhibition for Northside Open Studios
Yes!!! I am so excited, can't wait to see the rest of the pieces... the opening is tonight at 7pm, and the exhibition takes place until July 17th, so if you are around and/or want to take a look please come and stop by:
177 North 10th Street, Room G, Brooklyn NY 11211
About the illustration...
It is about sensuality. In my personal dictionary sensuality means to feel, feel and feel... feel who we are and expressing it to its fullest, to let out what we have on our inside, who we are, our motivations, feelings and thoughts... letting them free like flying birds...
Hope you can come!

my travel wish

After the big rush of adrenaline I felt when realizing they had stolen my computer charger at the airport, and destroying some illustrations and sketches as a collateral damage (I can only imagine how the found it wrapped in my pijamas at the bottom of one of the hunter's rain boots s to save some space),
I wished I knew better when it came to traveling, I guess I still have a lot to learn about how to better travel, everything above 80% importance, I mean, dear-and-very-hard-to-replace objects are coming with me on the plain =)
Any way, my beloved little sister was so nice she bought me a new charger.. and I was able to spend the morning learning how to add some gadgets to the blog. I must confess even if they are no exactly as I wanted them to look like, I think they totally improve the blog funcionality... now it is easier to follow the blog and share.... facebook, twitter, bloglovin'...=)
This an old illustration I made for some postcards, and my sister really really liked it...so here is for her
"You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it, however" (By Richard Bach)
What are you wishes then?...

I am SO SORRY!!
I do have a good reason to be so absent the last weeks!!
Excited going on vacation, I packed some pencils, markers and inks to paint some nice illustrations for you guys and my new-not-new-camera to also post some pictures...
Well guess what? I got stocked in JFK due to the blizzard the night before... the airport was chaos, flights canceled, air plains broken, tired staff, angry and deseparate customers...some people had been waiting for 72 hours!, sleeping on the floor or wherever they could (me included, couldn't help but falling sleep =))
Any way, after 16 hours of wait and another 7.5 of flight, when I finally landed the pilot announced that our baggage couldn't be loaded for technical reasons (what!!) WellI didn't get my bag until the last day... and on top of using the same outfit over and over I had no paper no pencils no images to work with...
yes, I had my camera to at least post some pics, but guess where the battery charger was? In the bag!!
It was on the overall a very nice experience, I felt so light living on nothing but what I was wearing...
So back to NY with no new images to post and share with you, yesterday I finally had time to finish a cute illustration and this morning I realised the scanner didn't send the file to my computer.... =(
So I decided to post an illustration I did last year around this time, it was one of my first ones and I like the way the coat's texture is almost tangible, so soft against the brightness of the jewelry... and tomorrow the new illustration, promised!

L...O...V...E
Hey everyone!!
Back from long birthday celebration and 4th of july weekend
And before all this, I worked in a series of illustrations inspired by words that I like to keep in mind... this one is about LOVE.
I looked for its definition and I was amazed of what I found...
Being such a universal concept we all have a different idea of what love is and how to love someone... or sometimes even something...?
So I am ony going to share with you the quotes I liked, and let you think about what love is for you and how intensely are you willing to give it...
"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in”
Morrie Schwartz
"Love is life. And if you miss love, you miss life"
Leo Buscaglia
"Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage"
Lao Tzu
"A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave"

Outside My Box
It's been a while that I wanted to do a drawing for this phrase.
I got the inspiration while looking at Patrick Demarchelier photographs.
"Think out side the box"...I know, i know... it's not the first time we hear the phrase.... dare to do things in a way you don't know, have new experiences outside our comfort zone, make things differently to have different results....bla bla bla right? But!!... the hard part comes when you are trying to think outside your box and you only come with the same solutions you've always have!
So what's the key?
Your friends!!!!! Surround yourself of wise people... they will always have a different point of view... just try it!

The Element of Freedom
So, the exhibition was last night. I had a wonderful time, many of my friends and very good friends were there, it was a great experience.
Thank you all for being there!
I also got invited to Alicia Keys concert.
It was very fun.
The concept of her songs and the lyrics are very deep...love, true and freedom. In fact the name of the album is "The Element of Freedom"
It makes me think, have you think about it?....
What makes us be free or not...?
What is exactly the element of freedom?
To me....OURSELVES.

Happy Friday!!
Hello everyone!!
I guess we are all happy today is Friday because....that means the weekend has officially started...! Mine seems to be very quiet, in NYC it hasn't stop snowing since yesterday which gives me perfect days to stay home and do nothing but painting!
I got the inspiration for this one from a Channel Advertisement. I really like how the colors turned out.
Enjoy your Friday =)
